GIDEON (Global Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Online Network), is a global infectious disease database used for diagnosis and references in the field of tropical medicine, epidemiology, microbiology and antimicrobial chemotherapy. CABI is making more than 17,000 relevant records from across Global Health and CAB Abstracts free to access for three months. It is aimed at public health professionals, researchers, academics and policymakers who are vital to the response of the outbreak by providing information relevant to the immediate and future needs of those affected.

The open-access coronavirus content on Global Health including research on epidemiology, prevention, and control of SARS and MERS, has been made open access as a way of contributing to the response to the outbreak which so far has more than 40,500 confirmed cases and over 900 deaths in China.
