Dosing Error in The Harriet Lane Handbook, 21e

We have just been notified by Elsevier, the publisher of The Harriet Lane Handbook, that a dosage error for hydromorphone HCL (in Child and Adolescent ≥50 kg) has been found in 21st edition of the Handbook. The original text indicated that the dose was weight-based, and it is not. Here’s what you need to know:

ClinicalKey has temporarily removed The Harriet Lane Handbook 21e from its collection. The corrected version is expected to be uploaded by September 4.

A corrected version of the Harriet Lane Handbook is available on the web via our uCentral subscription.

If you have installed the uCentral mobile app on a mobile device, you must download the most recent content update to ensure that you have the corrected version of the Handbook.

We will update you as soon as we hear back from the publisher.

Who knew? There are smart boards available at the Library.

Collaborative work in the Library’s group study rooms just got easier.

We now have 2 smart boards that can be used in the group study rooms. Reserve one online and borrow it from the Circulation Desk.

To use, download the free SMART Kapp app (available for IOS & Android devices). Use a dry-erase marker to write on the screen. Anything you write will also appear in the app. Use the camera icon on the smart board or in the app to take snapshots of the white board screen. If members of your team are participating in your meeting remotely, invite them to join your SMART Kapp session.

For more information, see our Smart Boards guide.
